Next time you feel the urge to reach for your phone while driving, don't.

An emotional video featuring the cast of the television show Summer Break is being shared online to make absolutely certain people are aware of the danger of using a phone while driving.

What began as a lighthearted video showing several young Summer Break actors admitting to common driving actions involving their phones took a powerful and eye-opening turn.

After the actors confessed they often use their phones while driving for enjoyable and seemingly important activities such as texting, sending Snapchats or controlling the music playing in the car, they were introduced to a young woman named Jacy.

Jacy explained that at the age of 21, while she and her family were driving back from her college graduation ceremony, their car was struck by a driver who was texting. The devastating crash killed both of Jacy's parents and left her partially paralyzed.

"I spent two months in the hospital fighting for my life and then two more months in a rehab hospital learning how to walk again, learning how to speak again, learning how to dress myself and how to feed myself," Jacy said.

The utterly stunned actors revisited their initial driving confessions with a completely different outlook and vowed to abstain from using their phones while driving.

"You have the power to make a difference and actually do something about it," Jacy said.

The video -- which was posted to the Summer Break Facebook page on Tuesday -- urges people to make the streets safer by sending it to someone they couldn’t live without.

It already has 4.6M views and has been shared over 100,000 times.
