UPDATE: Hillary Clinton has conceded and Donald Trump has won the U.S. presidential election.

Former Barack Obama advisor Van Jones choked up on CNN talking about what is looking like a Donald Trump presidential win.

Jones brought up race and the divisive nature of Trump, and called the night's results a "whitelash" against a black president.

"It's hard to be a parent tonight," Jones said on the TV panel. "You tell your kids, don’t be a bully. You tell your kids, don’t be a bigot ... And then you have this outcome."

He said parents across the country are "afraid of breakfast" when they have to explain how Trump was elected America's new president despite his bullying, insults and offensive comments.

On Twitter, many celebrities shared how Jones' comments resonated with them.
