Hulu surprise-drops 'Veronica Mars' Season 4 early

Ahead of the highly-anticipated Veronica Mars Season 4, Hulu surprised fans by releasing the full season a whole week early.

Star Kristen Bell announced the news at San Diego Comic-Con, and sure enough, it's now available on Hulu. Seasons 1-3 of the early-2000s series have been streaming since July 1. Veronica Mars achieved cult status after it went off the air in 2007. Then there was a 2014 film Kickstarted by fans.

Season 4 finds Veronica investigating a series of murders in her hometown of Neptune, CA, starting with a bomb explosion during spring break. Instead of the traditional 22 episodes of its previous seasons and most network dramas, Hulu's Veronica Mars will consist of eight episodes.

Veronica Mars is now streaming on Hulu.
