What the solar eclipse looked like from our phones and DSLRs

SINGAPORE -- Thousands of people across the Southeast Asia region got up bright and early on Wednesday morning to catch a glimpse of a rare solar eclipse.

The occurrence started at 7.20 a.m. local time and peaked at 8.23 a.m., when 87% of the sun was obscured.

Amid the awe, witnesses scrambled to document the spectacle and share their experience with the world on social media.

While the eclipse was best viewed from Indonesia, those in Singapore, Malaysia and Australia managed to witness the rare sight too.
