Thursday's shocking news that Twitter is killing video app Vine may have been telegraphed in Vine's last tweet on Wednesday evening.

Published at 8:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, Vine tweeted a video made shared by user "tzaddi" earlier in the week. The vine, which features the image of floating candles set to the song "Midnight" by Coldplay.

Not to read too much into this, as Vine was sharing videos to its Twitter feed all day on Wednesday, but the lyrics from "Midnight" definitely hint at the end of things and the desperate feelings of hope against the darkness.

Whether it was intentional or not (vines are still being uploaded right now, as it happens), and even if it seems a bit overwrought if it is intentional, it's a fitting last post for the social media platform.
