Fumbling for your keys is no fun.

Volkswagen has introduced Siri integration on its Car-Net app, allowing owners to unlock and lock their cars with a voice command.

It works with Apple devices on iOS 12, and once you're logged into the Car-Net app, you can simply say, "Hey Siri, unlock my car," to do just that.

Additionally, there are new Siri Shortcuts which allow you to check estimated mileage with your current fuel level, or the amount of charge left in the vehicle. You can also turn on alarms, set the defroster, adjust the temperature, and find out where your car is parked with a command.

So, instead of idly sitting in your car, waiting for it to warm up on a freezing morning, Siri Shortcuts could allow you to remotely switch on the car, defrost the windshield, and make your car nice and toasty before you hop in.

"With Siri Shortcuts, creating voice commands to use with our mobile app was a great opportunity to do just that," Abdallah Shanti, EVP, global chief information officer Volkswagen Brand & Car-IT, said in a statement online.

"Integration with Siri helps our drivers keep eyes on the road and hands on the wheel."

Of course, you'll have to pay for this ability, as Car-Net is a subscription service that costs $17.99 per month, or $199 a year in the U.S.

Volkswagen also announced in 2017 that it'll be integrating Amazon's Alexa into its vehicles, which is part of a wave of other carmakers finding ways to integrate voice assistants in cars made by BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
