A drunk man decided to take matters into his own hands when he found the staff at Waffle House fast asleep.

Alex Bowen of South Carolina stopped by his local Waffle House in Columbia for some late night grub early Thursday morning, after enjoying some drinks with some friends.

“It was around 3 a.m. I was pretty inebriated,” Bowen told ABC News, which, let's be real, we all knew.

Bowen says he waited at the register for service for 10 minutes, but when no one came to his aid, he decided to go back into the kitchen and make his own damn food.

“That’s when I got hot on the grill with a Texas bacon cheesesteak melt,” Bowen told ABC.

Good choice, Bowen. Good choice.

Bowen cooked his food, took a few drunken selfies, wrapped his food to go, and cleaned up his mess. He eventually found an employee sleeping, though he didn't wake the worker. Nobody else entered the location during the cook off. Bowen says he later returned to pay for the food he took.

His story eventually got back to management when he posted some photos online and they went viral. They were't too pumped, for obvious reasons, but apparently they offered Bowen a job as a secret shopper.

"We are reviewing this incident and will take appropriate disciplinary action. In a related note, obviously Alex has some cooking skills, and we’d like to talk to him about a job since we may have something for him," the company said in a statement to ABC.

The sleeping employee was reportedly suspended for a week.
