The Golden State Warriors just made NBA history with Western Conference Finals win
The Golden State Warriors defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 96-88 on Monday night to win the NBA's Western Conference Finals and become only the tenth team in league history to overcome a 3 game deficit in the playoffs.
{cardId: 40753}A week ago, the Thunder were up three games to one in the best-of-seven series after a 118-94 thumping of the Warriors. But, led by Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, the Warriors captured the next three games, including Monday night's Game 7 in Oakland to secure a spot in the NBA Finals.

League MVP Steph Curry led all scorers with 36 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Klay Thompson, who had a Yoda-socks-inspired 41 point performance in Game 6, contributed 21 points and 5 rebounds in the conference-clinching effort. Curry's 32 three-pointers throughout the series was an NBA record for a seven-game series.

While the Warriors are just the 10th team in NBA history to have come back from a 3-to-1 deficit, you don't have to go back far to find the last time it happened: the Houston Rockets accomplished that feat last year against the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference semifinals.

The 10 teams to have overcome the 3-to-1 deficit are:
2016 Golden State Warriors
2015 Houston Rockets
2006 Phoenix Suns
2003 Detroit Pistons
1997 Miami Heat
1995 Houston Rockets
1981 Boston Celtics
1979 Washington Bullets
1970 L.A. Lakers
1968 Boston Celtics
Of those teams, the '68 and '81 Celtics and the '95 Rockets went on to win the NBA Finals.
Two weeks ago, the Warriors were the favorite to win the Western Conference Finals, according to FiveThirtyEight's system, which gave them a 69% chance of winning the conference. Nice.
Then, just a week ago, in the wake of a couple of blow-out losses to the Thunder, the Warriors found themselves on the other end, with the Thunder possessing a 63% chance of advancing to the Finals.
But heading into tonight's Game 7 in Oakland, the Warriors, coming off a record-breaking 73-9 season, were once again favorites to knock off the Thunder and face Cleveland in the Finals.
After the game, Draymond Green said, "We knew if we came out and battled, we'd give ourselves a chance to win any game ... We continued to battle and lean on the experience we had."
While the Oracle Arena crowd chanted, "MVP! MVP," Curry said after the game: "This is what we work for, the opportunity to advance and get back to the Finals."
The next test doesn't get any easier as the Warriors take on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in a rematch of last year's Finals.
Game one tips off Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET.
