We need to talk about Kevin.

Love it or hate it, the viewing of Home Alone on TV during December is a universal must.

No matter where you stand on the question of whether the 1990 classic is a totally rubbish movie or not, we can all agree that annual discussions of its free-to-air broadcast brings people together, like a kind of annoying holiday glue.

Yard stick for viewing habits, Twitter is here to shed light on what the masses really think of Home Alone, and especially, its many'a plot hole.

There's no denying the John Hughes-scripted movie is a masterpiece when it comes to memorable quotes such as "Fuller! Go easy on the Pepsi!," "Put it in your purse" and "Buzz's girlfriend, woof!," which is pretty mean, really.

But there are so many unanswered questions. Why is Kevin's house so goddamned big? How come the Wet Bandits don't die after suffering multiple extreme injuries? Is Elvis Presley an extra in the airport scene?

And of course, the question everyone already knows the answer to: Is Kevin actually a murderous sociopath who loves inflicting pain on innocent small-time burglars? (The answer is yes.)

All of these and more have been playing out on social media in the last couple of days, as Home Alone airs on TV in Australia and beyond, not to mention all those streams and downloads people are indulging in.

If we can all agree on one thing this holiday season, let it be that Home Alone makes absolutely no sense and Kevin McCallister is actually the devil.
