Dear Weather Channel, you're bad at naming things

Are these storms or characters in a new CW show?

The Weather Channel has just made it a little bit easier for us to break the ice withtotal strangers.

The next time you're at an uncomfortable gathering and don't exactly know what to say, you're conversation starter can include the new list of winter storm names that have been introduced to the world, once again, for the 2017-2018 year.

Because they're really bad.

The list was announced by TWC on Twitter Thursday with monikers ranging from a hunky Aiden to a quiet and painfully shy artist, Zoey.

I'm not exactly sure if these are storms or a band of cast members from a Beverly Hills: 90210 reboot, but either way it's just a chance for them to create branding. The more people refer to a storm by a silly name, the more credit TWC gets.

This is, unfortunately, they're sixth season of alphabetically naming winter storms since 2012.

In 2015, TWC added "YOLO" to the list of storms and it just all went downhill from there. As if we don't already hate winter enough, why not add some names to it? Am I right?

Most people weren't too enthused about this year's selection of names - which also sound like a group of jerks who take typewriters to Starbucks - and voiced their 'concerns' on Twitter.

We're happy for you, dude.

So just remember the next time you're in a conversational jam, The Weather Channel is here to help; it's not like they have anything else do.

I mean, sitting around all day and naming blizzards is probably their version of a "good time."

And dear TWC: stop trying to make these names happen, they're never going to happen!
