A sweet date with some Spicy Chicken Nuggets, possibly?

It's not every day that you receive a Google Calendar lunch invite from Wendy's. Yes, the entire corporation, Wendy's, is going to wine and dine us.

Today, Wendy's official Twitter account teased us all with the promise of something when they posted a subtle GCal link with the caption "Let's hang." Since using something as official and business-y as Google Calendar to announce a potential new item is new territory for brand marketing, I'll bite — but the internet has so many questions. Is this a casual hang, a professional lunch, or does Wendy's want something more? Do we have to bring a greasy bouquet of french fries?

The calendar invite itself is for August 19, from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

"Hey, just wanted to send a lunch invite out to everyone. Was looking at the calendar and this seemed like it was probably the best date. Figured it would be a good chance for a couple million of us to get together," the invite reads. "Just thought we’d throw a little nugget out there and see who wanted to hang. You’re gonna want to keep this on the schedule. 😉"

Winky face emoji? Ooo, saucy.

Or, rather, Wendy's might be trying to get a little spicy with us. The mention of "a little nugget" has the internet guessing if this is the return of its Spicy Chicken Nuggets. Thanks to Chance the Rapper, the company announced back in May that the Spicy Chicken Nuggets would return, but did not specify a date.

Wendy's responses are certainly not helping to deny it.

If Wendy's does make good on its promise to bring back those sweet, sweet nugs, we may have to collectively consider a second date. What's fast food second base? Sharing a Frosty together?

UPDATE: June 24, 2019, 3:58 p.m. EDT Rev up those fryers, cause we officially have Spicy Chicken Nugget confirmation! Wendy's Twitter announced that August 19th is indeed the day that the iconic nugs will return in all their spicy glory.
