WhatsApp may finally make it less painful to change your number.

Since WhatsApp is tied to your phone number, changing numbers can be a huge hassle. Users do everything from add dozens of friends to a new group chat announcing the change in number to using the app's broadcast feature.

Now, the Facebook-owned company is reportedly testing a new "Change Number" feature in the beta version of WhatsApp. The feature allows users to notify contacts about the change in phone number, and groups will be notified regardless. Users can select whether they want to notify all contacts or just contacts they have chats with.

The feature was spotted by Twitter account @WABetaInfo, which closely tracks features that WhatsApp is testing across platforms on the WhatsApp beta for Windows Phone. The company is also testing live location sharing and a "revoke" feature.

Since the feature is still in beta, there's no guarantee that it will make it into the app, but we definitely hope it does!
