Take a look at this seemingly innocuous picture of six young women sitting on a couch. Nothing to see here, right? Just six friends who like the Packers hanging out.

Now look again, but this time try to find the legs belonging to the young woman in the middle. You can't find them. You have nothing. Nothing to do with all your strength. Nothing to do with all your ideas about where legs go.

The image was originally uploaded to Reddit on Dec. 24, where it's received over 6,100 points at the time of this writing.

We're living in a post-truth world, this is important.

Let's zoom and enhance on the portion of the photo causing widespread panic and nosebleeds: the three young women on the left side of the couch.

To solve the mystery, you must first be willing to accept the fact that the exposed knee in black jeans does NOT belong to the woman on the far left who is wearing black jeans. To accept this is to accept the possibility of failure, but also to accept the possibility of true enlightenment.

Once we've decided that the exposed knee is our cipher, we can begin to question the beer bottle. Why would she be holding it against the side of her leg? Simple: she wouldn't be doing that, that would be weird. No, the beer bottle is resting on top of the far left woman's leg, and a very slight light diffusion reveals what we'll refer to as her True Knee™.

Having discovered the True Knee™, we can now assume that the legs belonging to the woman second from left are mostly blocked by the legs belonging to the woman far left. Therefore, the distribution of legs works as shown in the graphic below.

Wow, just goes to show that working together, we can solve even the most challenging problems :)
