Amazon is extending its annual "Prime Day" promotion to 30 hours this year. Amazon will offer discounts and other deals in an effort to boost sales during the slower summer months. For two Amazon customers in Florida, a simple purchase of four plastic storage bins turned into a mystery involving 65 pounds of marijuana.

When the couple's order arrived a few months ago, they were surprised it weighed so much, according to WFTV, an ABC affiliate in Orlando. But they were downright shocked upon opening the 27-gallon bins only to discover they contained pounds and pounds of weed.

The woman who made the order spoke to WFTV anonymously because she and her fiancé still haven't determined why they received the drugs and remain worried for their safety.

“We were still pretty fearful our home would be broken into, and we didn’t sleep there for a few days,” she told WFTV.

The couple called the police, which seized the marijuana, and is investigating how the drugs were shipped from Massachusetts via Amazon's warehouse deals, through the U.S. Postal Service.

Amazon told WFTV that its customer service team worked directly with the couple. But the couple says they never spoke with a supervisor after exchanging emails with a company representative for more than a month.

"There was no concern for a customer's safety. I mean, this could have turned into a worst-case scenario," one of them said.

They ultimately received a $150 gift card for their troubles.
