80-year-old woman accidentally tries to carry a sword onto a plane

Whoops.

Unless she's a ninja, a medieval jouster or a weapons collector, an 80-year-old woman has no conceivable use for a sword.

But one elderly woman traveling out of Myrtle Beach International Airport unknowingly became a real badass when TSA agents checked her carryon luggage and found out that her cane was actually a sword all along.

With one tug of the beautiful bronze handle of her "walking cane," agents pulled out the deadly weapon.

Mark Howell, a TSA regional spokesperson who was at the airport highlighting dangerous items recently carried by passengers, said that the woman had no idea the cane, a gift from her son, was actually a sword, and that these things happen more often than we think.

Unfortunately, the woman had to hand over her new cool toy to security in order to make her flight.

Out of all the dangerous things brought on planes around the world, this might be the most innocent offense. We just hope she found a new, less deadly cane at her destination.
