In honor of World Mental Health Day celebrities around the world are using their platforms to help raise awareness and support for those living with mental health issues.

The day — which falls annually on Oct.10 — encourages a global conversation surrounding mental health and the importance of caring for yourself, while also mobilizing efforts that will help break down the stigma often associated with depression, anxiety, suicide, and mental health care.

This year, World Mental Health Day's theme focuses on mental health in the workplace, and some of your favorite celebrities — from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to model Talinda Bennington — are speaking out and sharing personal experiences to spotlight the importance of the issue.

Trudeau released a statement bright and early to let everyone know he's working to fight stigma and foster an open dialogue about mental health.

“Mental health is a vital part of our overall wellbeing, and everyone deserves access to the mental health care and support they need," Trudeau wrote in his statement. "Today is a chance to celebrate the people who are working to make mental health care a reality around the world – and a reminder that all of us have a role to play to fight stigma and create cultures where we can talk openly about mental health."

Meanwhile in London, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Prince Harry hosted a World Mental Health Day celebration at Kensington Palace to raise awareness.

The members of the royal family have been working with Heads Together — an initiative they've started in hopes of changing the way people think and speak about mental health.

The family has made many efforts to raise mental health awareness over the years, and back in September Kate Middleton spoke out about just how hard it can be to discuss mental heath, offering support to both children and parents.

Talinda Bennington — wife of Linkin Park's frontman Chester Bennington, who died by suicide back in July — also tweeted a call to action, urging people to make efforts to ask our peers how they're feeling and be supportive of one another.

Bennington and Linkin Park band members have been very open about raising awareness for mental health since Chester's death — even releasing a video of the singer laughing just 36 hours before his death to remind people that signs of depression can be hidden.

As the day goes on, actors, singers, writers, politicians, athletes, and YouTube stars from all over the world continue to share their own World Mental Health Day messages of hope and support.

In a Monday interview on This Morning, model Cara Delevingne spoke about mental health when discussing her new book Mirror Mirror. Delevingne described how she struggled with depression as a teenager and hopes the book will help teenagers struggling with the pressures of today's society — whether they be social media, identity, sexuality, or family-related to seek help and open up to others.

According to the World Health Organization, over 300 million people currently experience depression, and over 260 million people have some sort of anxiety disorders, so awareness is key.

If you want to talk to someone or are experiencing suicidal thoughts, text the Crisis Text Line at 741-741 or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. For international resources, this list is a good place to start.
