Microsoft teased last week that they'd be making the Xbox One's dashboard just a little bit faster. And in a gameplay stream of Telltale's The Wolf Among Us, we got a really quick look at it.

Ten minutes into his stream on Beam, Microsoft's head of platform engineering Mike Ybarra quickly clicked into the new Guide overlay so his viewers could get a sneak peek at it.

"Through one press of the Xbox button on your controller, you’ll be able to pull up the newly enhanced Guide as an overlay on the left side of your screen no matter what you’re doing," Ybarra said in a blog post last week.

The new Guide should streamline access to some of your most-used games, apps and console features. The Guide should also make a few other features more easily accessible.

"In addition, we’re rebuilding the most popular multitasking experiences for speed and ease of access," Ybarra said. "For example, you’ll be able to start recording your GameDVR clips, adjust your recording length, and access your captures directly in the Guide. We’ll also add a new Achievement tracking overlay, Gamerscore Leaderboard, a new Cortana design, and controls for background music, making these features easier to use."
