Thousands of people marched through downtown Los Angeles Saturday to protest President-elect Donald Trump, but photographer Abigail Gorden was especially drawn to one of the youngest participants.

While documenting the march, Gorden snapped a photo of a boy holding a sign reading "If he builds a wall, I'll grow up and tear it down," as he walked down the street.

Gorden told Mashable she decided to photograph the boy partially because of the determined look on his face.

"He seemed anxious but strong," she said.

Since Gorden posted the photo to her Flickr account, it -- along with a second photo of the boy -- have stirred up hope among those left heartbroken by Trump's victory last Tuesday.

Trump ran on a campaign promise to deport millions of undocumented immigrants as well as build a wall along the southern border of the United States.

Since Trump's election last week, several cities -- including Los Angeles -- have said they will remain sanctuaries for immigrants despite Trump's plans.
