Cricketer who fought cancer dazzles after 6 years in the best innings of his life
Yuvraj Singh has always been a fluent batsman. With a bevy of cricketing shots, from hooks and pulls to cuts and drives, at his disposal, he's arguably one of India's best one-day cricketers.
But the last five years had been a struggle for the man. He had to fight ill health, poor form and bad luck. Until this afternoon in Cuttack, when he stormed back to excellence with a swashbuckling century against the visiting England team.
Yuvraj's belligerent knock of 150 runs not only brought his team back into the game but also warmed the spirits of fans and former cricketers. Twitter showered praises on the man who fought a life-threatening disease to hold a cricket bat again.
And on the way, he notched up his highest-ever ODI score, 17 years since his debut.
Former English captain Michael Vaughan saluted Yuvraj's spirit for life.
