Rio crowd shouts 'Zika' at U.S. goalkeeper Hope Solo after joke tweets

The opening ceremony might still be two days away, but the 2016 Olympics have already kicked off, and they're providing all sorts of entertainment.

Team USA took on New Zealand in the soccer (or football as the IOC has it) Wednesday, winning 2-0 at the Mineirão stadium in Belo Horizonte.

However, the action off the pitch was even more lively.

It centered around U.S. goalkeeper Hope Solo, who sent some cheeky tweets about Zika before she left for Brazil.

The Brazilian spectators weren't taking that sort of slight lightly, so they proceeded to boo and jeer every time she got hold of the ball.

They also bellowed "Zika" at her non-stop.

Solo hasn't tweeted in response to the boos. According to one reporter, though, she said she would rather be heckled than hear silence.
