SAVE $50: The original Echo Show 8 is a great budget-friendly smart home hub, and as of April 15, you can bring one home for just $59.99 — a 45% savings.

If you're already using some of Amazon's smart home devices, a smart home hub will make your life much easier. With the ability to look at your photos, turn other Alexa-enabled smart devices off and on, and stay connected to loved ones, the first generation Echo Show 8 is one of our top picks.

As of April 15, the Echo Show 8 is back down to $59.99 — the lowest price we've seen. This is the same discounted price it sat at during Black Friday and Cyber Monday last year, so you know you're getting the lowest price possible.

While there's a newer version of the Echo Show 8 that features an upgraded camera and a speedier processor, the Gen 1 version of the smart display is still a great value for someone looking for a more budget-friendly price range — especially if you buy while this $50 discount is available.

The Echo Show 8 features an eight inch screen and solid speakers, so you can use your smart hub to video call family members, play music while you're entertaining, view recipes hands-free while you cook, or even use it as a baby monitor to check in on your little ones. Of course, Alexa compatibility will help you do everything with just the sound of your voice. Just ask Alexa to update your to-do lists and alarms, control smart thermostats, security cameras, and lights, and so much more.

The Echo Show 8 also doubles as a smart photo frame, and you can set it to rotate through your latest pictures from either Amazon Photos or Facebook. Digital photo frames can cost upward of $150 with virtually no additional functionality, so the Echo Show 8 gives you much more bang for your buck. You'll also be able to take a quick peek at the weather, watch your favorite streaming services while you multitask, or stay up to date on the news without ever having to lift a finger.
