It's a few generations old, but it holds its own against the newer Samsung phones.

SAVE 67%: High-end smartphones are rarely on sale, but you can find serious discounts when you buy them renewed. This Samsung Galaxy S10+ usually costs $849.99, but as of April 6 you can get a renewed model for just $274.69, which is a discount of 67% and a fantastic deal.

Brands like Apple and Samsung come out with new product launches so often that it can be hard to keep up, but that just means that older models of their phones and other tech still boast impressive features. Samsung's Galaxy S line, for example, consistently comprises some of its most high-performing phones, with ever-faster processors and camera upgrades in each new iteration, and prices to match.

If you're fine with not having the absolute newest model on the market though, check out the Galaxy S10+. Though it debuted in 2019, it comes equipped with an impressive Snapdragon 855 chip (a bit older and slower than the newest of chips, but the difference is so minute you likely won't notice), an in-screen fingerprint reader (the pandemic showed us the limits of facial recognition), and dynamic OLED display, which supports HDR10+ content viewing and reduces blue light emission.

The camera is also pretty slick, with three lenses — a main 12MP camera with dual aperture, a zoom telephoto camera that shoots up to 2x, and a wide-angle cam for those extra-wide shots — that work together to take the best picture. (The 10MP front cam also has autofocus and 4K video, so you can take selfies in a definition that if anything might be too high — who wants to see their own pores?)

Renewed models of the phone are on sale at Amazon for as low as $274.69 (with prices ranging to just $289 for different colorways). If you're wary of buying a preloved phone, the program guarantees a battery that performs at least 80% capacity relative to new, so it can't be that old (and this phone has 24-hour Intelligent Battery, so 80% is still more impressive than many other phones). Plus, it's been "professionally inspected, tested and cleaned" to make sure it has like-new functionality and no visible physical flaws. If you're not satisfied, full refund or replacement is available up to 90 days after purchase.
