SAVE $170.99: Amazon has the Coleman Montana 8-person tent on sale for just $99 as of Aug. 2. That's an impressive 63% off its $269.99 MSRP and a match of its Prime Day deal.

I don't usually go into Amazon's annual Prime Day sale with the intention to buy anything. The event's 48-hour time slot and "exclusive/limited-time deal" advertising make it a breeding ground for impulse purchases, and I'm trying to get better about avoiding buyer's remorse.

That said, there was one deal that popped up during Prime Day that I simply could not resist: the green Coleman Montana 8-person tent, which originally retails for $269.99, went on sale for only $99. I may not get to use it before the Midwest's camping season ends, but for 63% off, I'm fine waiting until next summer.

If you missed out on that deal while Prime Day was live, you just got a huge break. After hovering around $170 in late July, the tent has dipped back down to $99 as of Aug. 2.

This is a ridiculously good price for a tent of this size. For comparison's sake, it's now cheaper than every four- and six-person tent on the Coleman website (as well as half of the two- to three-person models available there). It has enough room to fit up to three queen-sized air mattresses and includes WeatherTec weatherproofing elements like welded floors and inverted seams (as well as its own rainfly) to keep water out. As one of Coleman's conventional pitch tents, as opposed to Fast Pitch or Instant Setup, you can get it assembled in about 15 to 20 minutes.

This particular tent has dropped all the way down to $74.75 on Amazon before (way back in December 2019). But considering this is usually the time of year when retailers clear out their camping gear for the season, I'd be willing to bet that $99 will be its best price for summer 2023.
