Cyber Week may be over, and Christmas may be in five days (as of this writing at least), but that doesn't mean all the good tech deals are gone.
You can grab the 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro for just $1,999.99 at Best Buy as one of their deals of the day. That means this $800 discount will last for Dec. 20 only, so you'll want to act if you've been looking to upgrade to a laptop with a fair bit of power behind it.
So what makes this MacBook a standout, despite being a couple years old? For starters, it has an Intel Ninth Generation Core i9 processor, which remains top of the line for powering heavy-duty tasks like coding, high-def video editing, and 3D rendering. Of course, these tasks look great on the 16-inch Retina display.
Creatives with many multimedia projects will also appreciate the full one TB of SSD built-in to this laptop. Additionally, its 16GB of RAM and AMD Radeon Pro 5500M also make it a better machine for gaming than most MacBooks out there. All of these features do mean you'll get a thicker and heavier MacBook, but that's the trade off for a laptop that can actually take full advantage of its specs.
Thankfully, this MacBook is the first of the post-butterfly keyboard era, but there are some minor drawbacks that remain. This MacBook doesn't have the SDXC slot, HDMI ports, or MagSafe charger found on the latest high-powered MacBook. And admittedly, not everyone will get the most bang out of their buck with a MacBook of this caliber (even with this killer sale price). If you're mainly using your laptop to browse the web, stream movies, and game a bit, you don't necessarily need to spring for an i9 processor to power your tasks seamlessly.
But for creatives and professionals who need the heft, or for those who want to maximize their power without maximizing how much they're paying, this laptop brings the heat, despite not being the most recent model on the market. In fact, because it's not the latest and greatest, you can grab it for just $1,999.99, but only as of Dec. 20.
