SAVE $400.99: As of Dec. 7, the iRobot Roomba s9+ is on sale at Amazon for just $899 — that's a whole 30% off its regular price of $1,299.99, a bigger discount even than during Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend.

While cheaper robot vacuums with less brand recognition are available, Roombas typically range in price from $150 to over $1,000. The higher end of this sliding scale is pretty hard to justify when you think about Roombas as little disks that basically perform the same function — vacuum — just marginally better, but even small differences make for a very different cleaning experience.

As the "most advanced... smartest, [and] most powerful robot vacuum" in iRobot's lineup, the Roomba s9+ has a $1,299.99 price tag to match. However, its specs almost make it worth it — it's got 40x the suction power of the Roomba 600 series (themselves priced around $180) and a 3-Stage Cleaning System that lifts, loosens, and eliminates gunk from deep within your carpets (and it automatically senses the depth of said carpets) to get them clean beyond what you can even see.

The s9+ also has iRobot's proprietary PerfectEdge Technology, comprised of advanced sensors and a specially designed brush that allows for thorough cleaning of the sharpest corners and along edges, so you don't get dust bunnies accumulating in neglected corners of the room. Wide Dual Rubber Brushes don't get clogged up with pet hair (the s9+'s filter actually captures 99% of cat/dog dander allergens); in fact, the s9+'s trademarked Clean Base® Automatic Dirt Disposal means that it can empty itself for up to 60 days, which saves you the trouble of disposing of sucked-up debris after every vacuum.

Most impressively, this most expensive of iRobot's models is equipped with considerable AI capabilities; with (again, trademarked) vSLAM navigation, it learns the layout of your home and constructs a Smart Map that it follows to navigate and clean in the most efficient way possible, incorporating your cleaning habits into its schedule as well (and suggesting cleaning of its own during pollen or shedding season). If you'd rather it follow a preset path or make a detour, you can tell it to do so on the iRobot Home app, which allows customized routines and maps. Or if you have a sudden accident, you can summon the s9+ with Alexa and tell it to clean under specific objects that it's mapped, like the kitchen table (home of many a spill). You can also set Keep Out Zones or designate objects for the Roomba to stay clear of, just for extra security if you have fragile things.

Even with all these features, it's pretty hard to pull the trigger on a vacuum that costs over $1,000, but the good news is that the Roomba s9+ is on sale for $899 at Amazon. Check it out and never have to think about manual vacuuming again.
