SAVE 20%: The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is on sale as of Feb. 8 at Amazon for $159.99 instead of $199.99. That's 20% off, or a discount of $40 — and plenty of time saved in the kitchen.

Even home cooks with the best knife skills need to rely on the efficiency and power of a motor from time to time. Why would you need one in the kitchen? To make smoothies, dough, dips, or crushed ice in 30 seconds.

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is equipped with such a motor, plus four functions —blend, mix, crush, and single-serve — suitable for processing food, mixing dough, nutrient extraction, or making drinks in less than a minute. It also has a pulse option that you can use to make your dip or sauce a specific consistency.

The system comes with a 72-ounce blender pitcher, 64-ounce processor bowl, and two 16-ounce to-go cups that screw right onto the machine, so you can swap one lid for another post-blend and take your creation on the go. Aside from the range in capacity, each container also comes with custom blades. The pitcher has stacked blades, the processor bowl contains both a dough blade and chopping blade, and signature Nutri Ninja Blades fit the single-serve cups.

For those who aren't sure if they could make use of blender/food processor, the included recipe book might give you some ideas. But if you don't often cook or make your own drinks, this Ninja machine might be a bit excessive — it weighs nine pounds and takes up quite a bit of counter space, so it's worth considering whether it's practical for you before buying. But if you're looking forward to summer and açai bowl season, or are sick of the blender or food processor you already have breaking down or taking ages, then we recommend checking it out.
