Even in a year filled with massive video game releases (Elden Ring ring a bell?), to call God of War Ragnarök "highly anticipated" would be an understatement of Asgardian proportions.
After delaying the game from 2021, Sony satiated fans with a Nov. 9, 2022 release date and a cinematic trailer for the God of War sequel in early July. Preorders went live a couple weeks later, giving players their choice between four different tiers for the PlayStation 4 and 5: the Launch Edition, a Digital Deluxe Edition, a Collector's Edition, and a highly coveted Jötnar Edition. (Never mind its $260 price tag.)

God of War Ragnarök Launch Edition
Anyone who purchases the full game before it's out will receive a voucher code for two free in-game bonuses: Kratos Risen Snow Armor and the Atreus Risen Snow Tunic cosmetic. (You'll unlock them as you progress through the main story.) Note that if you purchase a copy for PS4, you can later upgrade to the PS5 version for just $10.
