Few things are worse than being on the road and getting that “less than 20% battery remaining” notification on your smartphone. While portable chargers have presented a solution to the problem, you may forget to charge them, bringing you right back to square one.

Harnessing the power of the sun can solve this.

After years of living the “worldwide hustle/entrepreneur/jet set gypsy life,” as he calls it, Adrian Solgaard is set on reinventing the mobile office and is seeking funding via Kickstarter.

Lifepack: The Hustle is Solgaard’s collection of solar-powered backpacks, which is inspired by his years of traveling.

“From 2013 I’ve lived in Amsterdam, Spain, Belgium, and Denmark, with 3-4 trips a year to Asia and 3-4 trips a year to the US,” he says.

Despite the frequent travel, Solgaard says slowing down his work productivity was never an option – he needed to be able to plug in, wherever his travels may take him.

The percentage of people working remotely has increased 500% since the 1990s, and the percentage of those working remotely at least once a week has gone from 39 percent to 43 percent in the past year, making on-the-go charging increasingly important.

The bags’ solar-powered charging bank sits in an internal pocket and can be taken out to lay on a flat surface wherever you are, making it easy to recharge on the go.

The backpack comes in four colors and is available for $129, and the shoulder bag comes in two colors and will cost you $149. Back the project here.
