SAVE $39.99: As of Jan. 19, The Last of Us Part II Remastered is available to purchase. Owners of the original PlayStation 4 version can upgrade to the remaster for only $10 — just go to the store page on your PlayStation console (the one where you purchased the original game) and select the upgrade option.

With season 2 of HBO's The Last of Us on the way, there's no better time than now to experience The Last of Us Part II — especially now that the game is at its absolute best with The Last of Us Part II Remastered.

The game is available to purchase as of Jan. 19, but PlayStation is offering a sweet deal for those who already own the PS4 version of The Last of Us Part II: A $10 upgrade option ($39.99 off the original price). Here's how you can get yours.

PlayStation thankfully made it a simple process to upgrade to The Last of Us Part II Remastered. If you bought the PS4 version of The Last of Us Part II digitally, you've got it the easiest — just head to the Remastered store page on the PlayStation 5 console where you bought the original game, and select the upgrade option. That's it, you're good to go. If you bought the physical disc version of the base game, you'll need to insert the disc into your PS5, then go to the store page and grab your upgrade. Just note that you'll have to insert that PlayStation 4 disc into your PS5 every time you want to play The Last of Us Part II Remastered going forward. Unfortunately, if you got the disc version of the base game and don't have a PlayStation 5 with a disc drive, you're out of luck and you'll just have to buy a new copy of Remastered.

Why even upgrade if you already have the original version? Well, because The Last of Us Part II Remastered is the absolute best way to experience The Last of Us Part II. New features include graphical enhancements and DualSense features to fully integrate the game into the PS5 generation, as well as previously cut levels, new cosmetics, commentary tracks, a roguelike mode in No Return, and more. Even if you've already played the original game, it's well worth revisiting for fans.
