TL;DR: New subscribers can sign up for a one-year Audible Gold membership for just $99.50 now through Jan. 31. (This plan normally retails for $149.50, so you'll be saving a solid $50.)

Be honest: Have you abandoned your New Year's resolution already?

If so, no hard feelings: Experts say that about 80% of resolution-setters ditch these commitments by the second week of February, mainly because their goals are too lofty and involve lifestyle changes that are too drastic — like vowing to go to Planet Fitness every day even though you haven't touched a treadmill since the Obama presidency. In other words, you're hardly in the minority, here.

So, the question remains: At this point, is it feasible (or even possible) to salvage your 2020 resolution? Well, if that resolution involved devouring a bunch of books, all signs point to yes: Amazon just dropped the price of its annual Audible Gold plan for new subscribers, making it cheaper than usual to delve into the audiobook versions of all of the titles on your reading list. If you're not a current Audible member — and you haven't paid for a membership at any point within the past 30 days — you can score a one-year subscription for under $100 through the end of the month. (It's a much better investment than a gym membership — trust us.)

When it comes down to it, audiobooks suit busy lifestyles so much better than their physical counterparts: You don't have to lug anything around — instead, your entire library lives on your phone, tablet, or Alexa-enabled device — and you can listen to titles anywhere, whether you're waiting for the train or whipping up dinner.

The deal that Amazon's currently offering gets you a 12-month Audible Gold plan, which includes a dozen audiobook credits (worth one audiobook apiece) that you can redeem any point during your membership; choose from over 200,000 titles, from new releases to bestsellers and beloved classics. You'll also receive two Audible Originals per month so that your reading list stays ~fresh~.

Twelve-month Audible Gold memberships usually cost $149.50, but if you sign up anytime now through Jan. 31, you'll pay just $99.50 for your first year — a 34% savings. (Note: You'll pay $150 to continue your membership after that initial year, but you can always cancel your plan before it renews — just set a Google Calendar reminder for your future self.)
