The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 hybrid laptop is on sale on Amazon

Microsoft users have been eating good so far in 2020.

At the beginning of the month, Amazon rang in the new decade with some amazing deals on select machines from the brand's popular Surface laptop and Surface Pro 2-in1 laptop lines, the likes of which we haven't seen since Black Friday.

From the looks of things, the online retailer doesn't plan on switching things up anytime soon — not that anyone's complaining.

Following up on its discounts on the Surface Pro X and 6 and the Surface Laptop 3, Amazon is now offering some sweet, sweet savings on select configurations of the brand new Surface Pro 7, a 12.3-inch hybrid laptop that landed in September. Depending on the processing speed and storage capacity you have in mind, you can save up to 23%:

• Intel Core i3 processor, 128GB SSD, 4GB RAM — $609.98 (down $139.02 from $749)

• Intel Core i5 processor, 128GB SSD, 8GB RAM — $695 (down $204 from $899)

• Intel Core i5 processor, 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM — $997 (down $202 from $1,199)

• Intel Core i7 processor, 512 GB SSD, 16GB RAM — $1,579.99 (down $319.01 from $1,899)

• Intel Core i7 processor, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM — $2,079.76 (down $219.24 from $2,299)

(Pro tip: Put that money you're saving towards accessories like a Surface Pro Type Cover, Surface Pen, or Surface Arc Mouse — they're all sold separately.)

We didn't get a chance to review the Surface Pro 7 ourselves, but our comrades over at PCMag deemed it worthy of an Editor's Choice Award for "[representing] the best of detachable Windows tablets," if that tells you anything. Hardware analyst Matthew Buzzi concluded that while its design isn't super innovative compared to previous Surface Pro models, its USB-C port and newer processor makes it a worthy upgrade if your current laptop or tablet is a couple of years old. (In other words, don't go abandoning your Surface Pro 5 or 6 for this thing, but definitely give it a thought if you're working on a Surface Pro 4 or earlier.)
