Major freebie alert: As of Jan. 4, you'll get a free $67.99 128GB microSD card with the purchase of a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online family membership ($34.99) at Best Buy.

The Nintendo Switch is a purposefully shareable product, making it a great gift for couples or families with kids. It doesn't typically come with a memory card, but having one is pretty crucial if multiple people are using the same console.

For a limited time, Best Buy is throwing in a SanDisk 128GB microSD card (worth $67.99) when you buy a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online family membership for $34.99. The freebie alone is basically worth double the total price.

Nintendo Switch Online is what makes playing with other people possible. Users with an Online account — up to eight on a single Family membership — can visit a friend's Animal Crossing island or race against users from around the world in Mario Kart. Nintendo Switch Online also offers a curated library of over 70 classic Super NES and NES games, plus an ever-growing selection of free games.

A quick plop of the SanDisk card into the microSD slot bumps your Switch's capacity from 32GB to 160GB, which translates to an additional 120-ish games (depending on the size of your downloads). Without the extra space, Switch users often find themselves having to delete games to make room — a practice that's not super realistic when divvying playtime among multiple people.
