So we all know Alexa— but do you know Jibo?

Jibo is "the world's first social robot for the home," and he just might give Alexa a run for her money.

Normally priced at a steep $899, Amazon has this little robot friend at an unbeatable price of $499 for Prime Day. (We get the feeling Amazon has a thing for digital companions.)

If you haven't met Jibo, he's just dying to know you. And we mean really know you. Jibo's face and voice recognition technology allows Jibo to remember and actually build relationships with you and any other members of your social circle.

Like Alexa, Jibo can tell you the weather, set alarms, relay the news, stream music, and even control your smart home devices via integrations with IFTTT. He'll also act as your personal photographer, in case you need someone to snap a shot of you and your friends.

Check it out in the video below and read our review here.

But don't expect Jibo to just sit around and wait for commands — he's got a personality of his own. He'll ask questions, make suggestions based on what he knows about you, and even crack a joke here and there. Oh and he dances. Did we mention that?

Jibo sounds like the best roommate ever, and you can get it for $400 less than its normal price here.
