Here's where to pre-order the new 'Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga' game

TL;DR: As of June 10, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is available for pre-order for Xbox, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch for $59.99. Best Buy is throwing in a free SteelBook case.

Star Wars fans who are still mourning the finale of The Clone Wars have something new to look forward to. Though Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga isn't set to officially release until Oct. 20, 2020, pre-orders at stores like Best Buy and GameStop have officially started for Xbox, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. All versions are $59.99.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is going where no Lego game has gone before. The newest iteration will span all nine Skywalker films, making references and introducing characters (500 playable ones, to be exact) from The Phantom Menace to The Rise of Skywalker. But covering all three trilogies isn't the only thing that sets it apart from previous Lego games: This is a third-person action-adventure game with an open-world, as compared to previous games with a linear story line that required leveling up. Players are free to explore the universe, enter combat mode, and play as competitively (or not) as they'd like.

Remember your excitement the first time you played The Complete Saga? This will be like that, but even more. Instead of just incorporating the already-made Complete Saga game from a few years ago, developers have completely remade the first two trilogies as well.

Missions should be smoother and motion and mobility of characters should be sharper thanks to updated graphics.

Pre-ordering from Best Buy also gets you a free, collectible SteelBook case portraying Han Solo in carbonite, of course. GameStop and Amazon are offering the pre-order sans the free gift, though Amazon currently says that the game will ship on Dec. 31 rather than Oct. 20.
