Ears are like fingerprints: no two are exactly the same.

It's a perennial problem with earbuds—they never fit your ears quite right so they either fall out while you're running around or they start to hurt after wearing them for an extended period of time. Sometimes it's both if you buy those $5 ones in the CVS checkout line. Even high-quality, expensive earbuds seem to operate on a one-size-fits-all mentality. *cough AirPods cough*

A Kickstarter campaign is attempting to disrupt the true wireless earbuds market by creating an earphone that completely conforms to the shape of your ears. There are some earbuds on the market that have a flexible tip to attempt a better fit. The VIE FIT, from Japanese startup Vie Style, is made almost entirely out of a flexible silicone that reshapes to fit your ear. Not just the ear tip, but apparently everything that touches your ear is soft, flexible, waterproof and anti-bacterial.

Clearly this is an innovation that's resonating with people. The VIE FIT reached its goal in just over 24 hours of being on Kickstarter. With less than two weeks left in the campaign, they've already met two of their stretch goals and are well on their way to meeting the last one at $200,000.

Vie Style believes in their product too, even throwing shade at AirPods in gif form.

In addition to the game-changing flexibility, VIE FIT attempts to fix some other problems with true wireless earbuds as well as a few features that we've come to expect in higher-end Bluetooth headphones but are still nice to have. Check out the full suite of features in the video below.

VIE FIT will be priced at $140, sitting right around the standard for true wireless headphones. If you hurry, you can get the Early Bird price of $89, only available to the first 2,000 backers. The campaign wraps up on November 30, with units scheduled to be delivered in March of 2018.

You'll just have to look a little like an alien with your AirPods until then.
