You can probably find a Dell all-in-one PC for cheaper than a laptop

Save up to 35%: Dell's Black Friday Sneak Peek includes large discounts on multiple Inspiron and OptiPlex all-in-one models:

All-in-one computers are exactly what they sound like: A streamlined desktop computer that combines the juice from a traditional desktop tower and puts it in the same package as the monitor. Less shopping on your part and less of a game of Tetris to arrange a tower and all its cords at your desk.

If you're picturing an iMac, yes, that's technically right.

Dell makes its own line of all-in-ones that provide the hybrid Windows experience that PC people want, with larger screens for lower prices than the corresponding iMac competitors. (Finding an all-in-one for less than the price of a high-end laptop isn't rare, and a path you should consider taking if your work doesn't actually require the portability of a laptop.)

Dell dropped its Black Friday ad on Oct. 15, as well as a list of Black Friday Sneak Peek deals that are already live. A handful of Inspiron and OptiPlex all-in-ones made the team, putting multiple models at or around the $1,000 price point.

Even though they're already on sale, you'll see a tiny "35% off list price" banner over select OptiPlex models. Entering the code SAVE35 in your cart can save you an extra $100 to $200 compared to its original advertised sale price.

BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK: Dell OptiPlex 7470 All-in-One Bundle (Intel Core i5, 128GB) — $789 (save $701.13)

Dell OptiPlex is a business-oriented line (compared to the more personal use target of the all-in-one Inspirons). The price hike can mostly be attributed to quick release tabs on parts like the hard drive — a bonus for people handling the updates on multiple computers or people who want to build their own PC.

But for less than $800, it's not far fetched to consider the OptiPlex 7470 for your home: This badass hybrid packs the power of an i5 Intel Core Processor and an HDR 4K monitor, plus an included Dell Premier wireless keyboard and mouse.

BUDGET PICK: Inspiron 24 5000 Silver All-In-One (1TB) — $587.99 (save $62)

For at least $500 cheaper than the most affordable iMac, your office can still sport a silver all-in-one — with a handsomely-crafted arch or A-frame stand for more stability than the typical monitor neck. The 24-inch FHD display feels even larger stretched across razor-thin bezels that Apple hasn't yet achieved. Under the hood, a tenth generation i3 Intel Core processor and DDR4 memory keep tabs and tasks lag-free. Other features include a pop-up webcam.
