Amazon kicks off holiday season with $70 off the Kindle Paperwhite
SAVE $70: Normally $159.99, the 32GB configuration of Amazon's 10th-gen Kindle Paperwhite is on sale for just $89.99 as of Oct. 3 (a 44% savings).
Amazon just gave everyone a very good excuse to pass on the all-new Kindles it's launching at the end of the month.
The retail giant is running a sale that features an impressive $70 discount on the 32GB configuration of its 10th-gen Kindle Paperwhite from 2018. At just $89.99, or 44% off the $159.99 MSRP, it's now a mere $2 away from its lowest price ever and just $15 more expensive than the 8GB base model. (The twilight blue variant of that guy has dropped to $74.99 as part of the same sale.)
With a glare-free display, an adjustable built-in light, a battery life of up to six weeks per charge, and a take-anywhere, waterproof design, Amazon really nailed the formula with this one. Its customers seem to agree: At the time of writing, it had a 4.8/5-star rating with nearly 124,000 reviews. (Sheesh.)
For comparison's sake, waiting around for the all-new Paperwhite will get you a larger display with a warm light and a slightly beefier battery life. It's priced competitively at $139.99, but do note that it only comes with 8GB of storage — you'd have to upgrade to the $189.99 Paperwhite Signature Edition to match the capacity of the current standard Paperwhite.
All things considered, Mashable tech editor Michael Nuñez is still right: This is "hands-down the best value e-reader you can buy." (Peep his full review here.)
