The Echo Show 5 is even cheaper than it was last Prime Day

Amazon is letting Prime Day be a slow burn this year with deals rolling out gradually until the big day(s) on Oct. 13 and 14. One early Prime Day deal that's live as of Oct. 6 is on the Echo Show 5 — Prime members can save $45, or 50%, on the Amazon device. This is an even better deal than last year's Prime Day when the Echo Show 5 was $40 off.

There's a whole lineup of different sizes of Echo Shows now, but the 5 is the best one to have on your nightstand. It's compact, has a screen that displays the time when not in use, and features a pretty decent speaker.

You can use the Echo Show 5 as you would any other Alexa-enabled device — to ask questions, request music, listen to the news, connect other smart home devices, and tons more. Plus, there's a camera that allows you to video chat, and you can watch movies and shows on the little screen. There's also an option to turn off the microphone and physically cover the camera, you know, for privacy reasons.

We can't imagine the price dropping any lower on actual Prime Day, if the Echo Show 5 has been on your wishlist, just go for it. Grab the device on sale for $44.99 if you're a Prime member.
