TL;DR: The deluxe edition of Alan Wake 2 is just $38.06 on Xbox for Prime Day, which is a new all-time low from its $59.99 list price.

Horror fans and those who love meta narratives, live-action video, and cheesy (but awesome) narrative metal songs rejoice, as Alan Wake 2's deluxe edition hit a new all-time low price of $38.06 on Amazon for Prime Day. There are a couple of things to point out here, though. One is that the PS5 version of the game is $44.99, which is obviously not as good of a discount, though it's still a decent deal. Another is that Walmart has the Xbox version for the same $38.06 price in its competing sale. That is to say that if you don't feel like using Amazon for whatever reason, you have another option.

Regardless, Alan Wake 2 is one of the best video games of the last few years, bar none. Our reviewer Chance Townsend called it a "horror masterpiece" when it launched in 2023, and I can confirm that he's right. Remedy Entertainment's best game so far blends thrilling third-person shooter combat with light detective work, exploration, and lots of weird, meta storytelling. It knows when to be tense, when to be creepy, and when to be funny, sometimes all at the same time. It also has an incredible musical sequence that needs to be seen to be believed.

Oh, and the deluxe edition features a voucher for the remastered version of the first Alan Wake, in case you need to play catch-up before hopping into the sequel. That's two games for the price of less than one, folks. Hop on it.
