Save $18: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is on sale for the Switch for just $41.99 — an 18% savings — at Amazon as of Sept. 17.

If you own a Switch, and you don't own Breath of the Wild, I hate to say I fundamentally do not understand you but — fundamentally, I might not understand you! Maybe this seems like an overreaction, but this beautiful, engaging, and unforgettable game from 2017 tends to evoke strong feelings, and not without good reason.

If you're interested in seeing what the fuss is all about, now would be a good time to do so. As of Sept. 17, physical copies for the Switch of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are on sale for $41.99, down from $59.99, at Amazon (and even Best Buy).

Honestly, if you're on the fence about buying this, I'm tempted to tell you to really just trust me (and everyone else who is obsessed with this game). But in the interest of journalism, here's a quick rundown. In BotW, you play as Link, who's just awoken from a long slumber and must now save the kingdom Hyrule. As you follow your journey, you'll interact many different characters, explore shrines, collect weapons, fight enemies, cook food, make potions and become immersed in this world. You'll find this game is heartfelt, silly, somber, adorable (shoutout to Hetsu) and challenging. You can do a million side quests, stick pretty straight to the main storyline, or meander around and just vibe in this gorgeous rendition of Hyrule.

So clearly, I love this game, but I also get at the end of the day, everyone has their own preferences. I guess if you want a straightforward game that doesn't encourage discovery, this might not be your jam. I will share that Mashable reporter Kellen Beck called this game one of the greatest gaming experiences of the past 30 years, so you can do with that information what you will.

Oh, and by the way, there's a highly-anticipated sequel coming out sometime next year (available for pre-order now). If that sways your decision at all to take advantage of this limited-time sale on one of the greatest gaming experiences of the past 30 years, then so be it.
