Save $500: As of Sept. 30, the 65-inch model of Sony’s A80J 4K OLED TV is 22% off at Amazon, dropping it to a record-low price of $1,798.
There are two groups of shoppers with their eye on an OLED TV: OLED veterans and those shopping for baby’s first OLED. Sony’s not-top-tier-but-still-great OLED model, the A80J, is a top contender for the latter group. The 65-inch model is seeing a huge discount of $500, which brings it down to $1,798 — its lowest price ever at Amazon by far.
Aside from the saved money, there’s still a lot to be squeezed out of Sony’s next best OLED. First and foremost, the A80J harnesses the same processing power of the pricier A90J flagship. Through the new Cognitive Processor XR, these Sony TVs survey the frame in real time to optimize details and specific objects that (they think) would draw our attention. These customized adjustments on make-or-break visuals like tone or background light depending on the angle from which a scene is filmed.
