Ever wonder what goes into the making of a hit TV show? The kind that keeps us coming back for more, season after season, while we become completely invested in the lives of characters we grow to know and love like they were part of our family?

Ask Shonda Rhimes. No, seriously. You can.

Shonda Rhimes is the writer, creator, and executive producer of shows like Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and How To Get Away With Murder and was also named one of Time magazine's "100 Most Influential People in the World." Oh, and basically everything she touches is gold: Every show she's done has lasted for at least six seasons.

Now she's adding "teacher" to the résumé and sharing tips for TV writers with her very own Masterclass.

Masterclass is an insanely cool way to learn straight from your idols — without even leaving your couch. In a series of online video courses that you can access any time you want, you can learn to cook from Gordon Ramsay, learn creative writing from Margaret Atwood, or how play basketball from Stephen Curry (and the list goes on.)

What's awesome about Shonda Rhimes's Masterclass is the fact that she'll not only teach you how to write for TV (from finding an idea, to developing a concept, to creating memorable characters and plots), but since she's worked on pretty much every side of TV production, she'll also give invaluable advice from the perspective of a producer, like how to give a good pitch, what she looks for in a script, and how to make yourself stand out in a writers' room. Basically all of the stuff that she "would've killed to know" when she was starting out.

She also delves into what life is like as a TV writer, how to deal with writers' block, gives tips for how to break into the industry, and shares her thoughts on film school.

Once you sign up for the course ($180 for an all-access pass to all the Masterclass courses and surprisingly affordable considering the level of insider information you're getting), you'll have access to six hours worth of video lessons, as well as a downloadable workbook and a bunch of cool extras. You'll be able to read Rhimes's original pitch for Grey's Anatomy and both original and final versions of some of her famous scripts. Honestly, even if you're not a writer and just a huge fan of one of her shows, the exclusive extras this course comes with are a stan's dream.

You'll also have the opportunity to connect with other students taking the class (hello networking opportunities) and even record any questions you have on video and send them to directly to Rhimes (which she may even pick to answer directly.)

Sign up for the Masterclass here.
