There are enough great broadband deals out there to choose from, but sometimes, you're looking for the cheapest of the cheap when it comes to monthly contracts.
You can pick up broadband surprisingly cheap in 2019, with some providers offering it for less than £20 per month.
Deals can alter often, and sometimes you can pick up a superfast package for close to what you'd be paying for a regular ADSL plan.
ADSL is the cheapest form of broadband in the UK. Most providers will have an ADSL broadband option, although they are no longer the most popular option when it comes to the British household.
Speeds average at 11 Mbps on the most affordable plans. But they are cheap and easy to get installed. Most British households should be able to get a standard ADSL package, it just all depends on what you're willing to pay for it.
If you're interested in BT broadband deals, or all the best broadband deals from the wide range of UK providers, we've got you covered.
NOW Broadband
Best Budget Option
The Good & The Bad
- Flexible packages
- Very cheap
- 30-day contract price increase
Brilliant Broadband — 12 months, 11Mbps, £18 a month, no up-front fee
Fab Fibre — 12 months, 36Mbps, £25 a month, no up-front fee
Super Fibre — 12 months, 63Mbps, £30 a month, no up-front fee
Why We Like It
NOW broadband is one of the cheapest broadband services in the UK at the moment. Its Brilliant Broadband deal also includes unlimited landline calls, so it could be a perfect fit if you want a family line. Its other fibre packages aren't the most expensive either, so you've got plenty of choice when it comes to cheap broadband.
It is £18 per month for NOW Brilliant Broadband, with no upfront fees. NOW offers faster broadband that can reach up to 63Mbps on the Super Fibre contract, for only £30 per month.
Over a 12-month period, this would work out at £360, but you can opt for a more flexible 30-day rolling contract if you don't mind a slight increase in price. This can be useful if you ever need to change supplier or you find a better deal, plus you will avoid any cancellation fees in the process.

Hyperoptic Broadband
Best For Short Contracts
The Good & The Bad
- Incredible speeds
- Great price
- 30-day contracts
- Geographically restricted
Hyperoptic Fast — 30-day rolling, 50Mbps, £23 a month, £20 up-front fee
Hyperoptic Superfast — 30-day rolling, 150Mbps, £26 a month, £20 up-front fee
Hyperoptic Hyperfast — 30-day rolling, 1Gbps, £45 a month, £20 up-front fee
Why We Like It
Despite its geographical restrictions, Hyperoptic is one of the most up-and-coming broadband providers in the UK.
Setting new trends with its cheap 30-day rolling contracts, its cheapest package is only £23 per month for 50Mbps worth of download speed. When compared to the likes of BT and Virgin, Hyperoptic is a strong option for most households.
The top package can supply a massive 1Gbps in download speeds, that is perfect for homes that stream, game, and download all at the same time.
Hyperoptic doesn't have the best geographical spread, so there's a chance you won't be able to get covered. If you live in or around London though, there is every chance of coverage.

Plusnet Broadband
Best For Cashback
The Good & The Bad
- Cheap packages
- Great cashback deals
- Limited options
Why We Like It
Plusnet has a small slice of the broadband pie in the UK, but can offer some great deals with its brilliant cashback offers, and cheap broadband packages.
Plusnet doesn’t insist on including line rental with your internet service. So this makes perfect sense if you have an existing phone line through BT. You can then just keep that line and only pay Plusnet for your internet connection. That's not to say it wouldn't actually work out cheaper to switch completely over to Plusnet, however.
Plusnet isn't just an offshoot of BT, however. It operates as an independent business, with its own pricing structure and customer service. There are a number of details that help Plusnet to stand out from the crowd.
Best deals
Plusnet Unlimited Broadband — 18 months, 10Mbps, £19.99 a month, no set-up fee, £65 cashback
Plusnet Unlimited Fibre — 18 months, 36Mbps, £23.50 a month, £10 set-up fee, £50 cashback
