As technology continues to develop, there's never been a better time to invest in wearable tech. There are options ranging from powerful to affordable, and cheap smartwatches continue to produce increasingly more power for even less money.

There's plenty of new models, and Apple tends to release a new Apple Watch every single year now, but that also means there are lots of great smartwatch sales and deals to find.

We've found all the best deals across the biggest retailers and lined up the latest and greatest smartwatch bargains. Read on to find the right smartwatch for you, at the best price.

The Good & The Bad

  • Always-on retina display
  • Potentially life-saving ECG feature
  • Endless face and band colours
  • Distance tracking under water
  • Sleep tracking is still lacking

Why We Like It

An unexpected addition to the Apple event in Sept. 2019, the fifth Apple Watch makes another step up from the groundbreaking Apple Watch Series 4.

Releasing in 2018, the Apple Watch 4 was one of the best in its class of smartwatch and features plenty of advanced features, including ECG and heart rate monitoring. Apple is making the new edition even better, as it features some heavily requested quality of life improvements.

One of the most exciting additions to the latest model is the always-on Retina display splashed across the Series 5's glorious bezel-less display.

If you can afford the latest model, it is well worth investing in.

The Good & The Bad

  • Realistic watch design
  • Massive battery life
  • Rotating bezel control
  • Limited third-party support

Why We Like It

The Galaxy Watch achieves looking like a traditional watch with ease and even packs a healthy four days worth of battery life.

This is one of the most refined wearables on the market and is robust enough to tackle everyday activities with ease.

Featuring a brilliant rotating bezel that can protect your screen, this watch doesn't feel huge on the average user. However, it may feel a little cumbersome if you attempt to wear it in bed to take advantage of the sleep tracking features.

The Tizen operating system is swift and clean but doesn't feature the same amount of third-party support you can get with the likes of WearOS on the Apple Watch.

The Good & The Bad

  • Affordable
  • Easy UI navigation
  • 4G LTE Support
  • Limited third-party support

Why We Like It

Releasing only six months after the original, the Active2 upgrades the original in a number of crucial ways but still keeps that reasonable price-tag.

The most unique upgrade is definitely the digital rotating bezel, a touch-based feature that allows users to spin through your apps with speedy haptic feedback.

Spinning through your apps is quick, easy, and works a charm compared to traditional scrolling. Combining this with the beautiful AMOLED display, the Active2 has a touch of elegance about it.

The Good & The Bad

  • Music on-the-go
  • Fitness features
  • Card-free payments
  • Design is questionable

Why We Like It

The Fitbit Ionic is a comfortable and robust smartwatch with plenty of features. It can run for around four days on a single charge, and works wonders with its fitness tracking systems.

This is Fitbit's attempt to take on the likes of Apple, with a number of key features taken right from the Apple Watch playbook.

The on-board storage can fit around 300 songs for music on-the-go, and the watch also features Fitbit Pay for card-free shopping.

Completely waterproof as well, the Ionic is currently at a great price and well worth considering.

The Good & The Bad

  • Great fitness features
  • Affordable
  • Four-day battery life
  • Lacking Wi-Fi capabilities

Why We Like It

A stripped-back version of the Fitbit Versa, the Lite is one of the cheapest branded smartwatches available at the moment.

The watch is aiming for first-time buyers who want to dip their toe into the metaphorical water of feature-full and expensive smartwatches.

As expected from Fitbit, the Versa Lite is packed full of great fitness features, and the big four-day battery life is also equally as impressive.

It doesn't pack as much into it as other smartwatches, but its a good starting point and very affordable.

The Good & The Bad

  • Massive battery life
  • Entry level

Why We Like It

The Garmin Forerunner is affordable, simple, and easy to use. The watch can manage music and a fitness tracker alongside its basic watch features.

It's essentially an entry-level device but certainly not a bad one. It works excellently with Garmin Connect, and its heart rate sensor works a charm when you run.

Uploading your stats couldn't be easier, and you can expect up to nine days battery on basic use, although that does drop to 13 hours with extensive use of training mode and GPS functionalities.
