Man builds adorable 2D video game to propose to his girlfriend

It's not often you find yourself uncontrollably welling up while watching a video of two people you don't know getting engaged, but here we are.

"I taught myself video game development and made a game to propose to my girlfriend," Denis Wells wrote on Reddit recently, sharing a 15-minute video of the moment he proposed to his partner, Cheyenne.

The game itself — which took Wells around nine months to create — is a 2D side-scroller that sees a pixel Cheyenne navigating various worlds and times, interacting with friends, family members and fictional characters before her final conversation with a pixel Denis. The game ends with a simple yes or no question — Will you marry me?

If you can make it to the end without getting at least a little watery-eyed, we will be very impressed.
