Missing your alarm for something important is one of those things that even the most organised of us can relate to. It's that missed-a-step, heart-in-throat feeling, followed by the kind of run-around chaos that inevitably leads to profuse apologies and outfit choices like Lorelai Gilmore's when she first took Rory to Chilton.

It's the kind of thing you wouldn't want to do, say, if you were about to start shooting with acting legends like John Turturro and Christopher Walken — something Severance star Adam Scott did on his very first day.

Describing the scene to James Corden on The Late Late Show, Scott took the audience back to a scene that must have taken a lot to revisit. "It's like a nightmare: running around my apartment, getting dressed, crying — like I’m 10 years old and I’m in trouble. It was the worst," he said. "This big day I was excited for, the first thing I had to do was go and personally apologise to John Turturro and Christopher Walken."

Corden tells his own tale of napping woe involving falling asleep backstage during his Broadway run of The History Boys. "I woke up to hear someone else saying my lines on stage," said the late show host.

Guess we're never sleeping again, huh?
