One of the most highly anticipated offerings from HBO Max's new content lineup is more Adventure Time, in the form of four all-new extended episodes focusing on different characters.

The first, simply called "BMO," stars our favourite relentlessly positive genderless mini-robot (voiced by Niki Yang) on a mission to Mars — which, as you can see in this clip of the episode's first few minutes, doesn't go to plan.

The brief clip promises an adventure full of gracefully, gloriously weird space creatures, with a hint of the mind-boggling inter-dimensional psychedelia of creator Pendleton Ward's recent project The Midnight Gospel.

"BMO" premieres on HBO Max on June 25.
