So first, what is an air fryer and how does it work? Simply put, an air fryer does pretty much the same thing that a deep fryer does, but without the oil. For most recipes, you'll only need a tablespoon of oil or a quick spritz of non-stick spray. And for making chicken wings (or reheating day-old takeout), it does a pretty stellar job. Remember to flip your chicken wings halfway through and give them a poke with a meat thermometer to make sure they've reached an internal temperature of at least 165°F.
