Seth Meyers handed off the spotlight to Late Night with Seth Meyers' secret weapon Amber Ruffin on Tuesday night, responding to Donald Trump comparing the impeachment inquiry into him to "a lynching" — a word that, let's not forget, refers to the extrajudicial killings of thousands of Americans, most of whom were black.

Writer-performer and queen of wild-eyed sarcasm Ruffin is the breakout star the show, thanks to segments like Amber Says What and Jokes Seth Can't Tell. Ruffin addressed Trump directly, referencing his father's KKK links and outlining just how fucked up it is to compare constitutional due process to thousands of racist murders.

"The reason you're comfortable comparing your situation to a lynching is that you value black people so little that in your mind, a black person dying is equal to your slight discomfort," she said.

"You think the impeachment inquiry is an injustice. It's not. It's the direct consequence of your actions."
