Well, this is definitely a feel-good story.

The Smithsonian's National Zoo released a video in April reporting that the scimitar-horned oryx has been reintroduced in Chad and appear to be doing well.

The oryx, which is a type of antelope, has been extinct in the wild for 35 years, according to Smithsonian.

But starting in 2016, animal scientists were able to start reintroducing these antelopes to their native habitat in Chad because they breed well in zoos.

Today, researchers can monitor the health of the wild populations using satellite trackers that relay data to their cell phones. Plus, the reintroduced oryx have started breeding.
